Hello — I’m Lynn, a literary nonfiction writer and lifelong dog person who believes dogs become part of your life in a way nothing else can. It’s a bond as deep as any vow, an everlasting love, and a responsibility you carry with your whole heart.
If you’re here, it’s probably because you love your dog the way I love mine.
I’m not a vet or a trainer. I’m an observer, a researcher, and a storyteller who’s obsessive about keeping my own dogs safe, happy, and understood. Over the years, I’ve become an interpreter of dog life — someone who takes lived experience, research, and the overwhelming parts of dog care and turns them into something real people can actually use.
My wish for you, as you read, is to feel joy in the bright moments, to feel less alone and more seen in the hard ones, and to walk away feeling more prepared and confident because of the tips and suggestions I’ve learned along the way.
My Background
Here’s a little about how my writing life — and my dog life — came together.
I’ve been writing since childhood and am proud to be the third generation of women in my family to make a life out of words. Writing has always been the thread running through everything: childhood stories about horses, then journalism in high school, earning an English literature in college, working as a corporate training for a large retailer, freelance work, and eventually blogging about dogs long before “content creation” had a name.
Dog Obsessed World grew out of the early days of social media: people kept asking me questions about dogs, and I realized I had answers because I’ve spent decades paying attention and learning. Turning those posts and conversations into longer articles, essays, and blogs just came naturally. It was simply the next step in a life shaped by writing and dogs.
